1. The Body

Starting with making the body.
A. We need a fondant up to the size you want
(How big the fairy you want). I tinted with skin colours.. depends on what skin colour you want
(I am using the Wilton food colouring. will need to update the numbers later)
B. I also prepared a small square container, to place my figurine. I wanted to make my fairy in sitting position..
Direction according to picture :
1. Roll your fondant to almost cylinder shape. Next to create the legs, using your knife cut fondant according to pic no.1.
I just estimate the length of my figurine's legs.
2. Next.. you have to shape the legs.. I will shape the thighs and the knee area will need to be slighter slimmer.
3. Choose which part of the fondant will be the back side of the figurine. and using the back of your knife.. make a light cut on the knee area so easy for us to bend the legs.
4. Now turn to the front of your figurine and make a light cut according to the picture no.4. This is to make it easier for us to bend the figurine into sitting position.
5. Take the container
(Already dust with corn flour) and place the figurine body into sitting position. Remember the cut is to make it easier for us to bend the body and the knee. If it still hard for you to bend, cut a bit deeper until you able to bend it.
6. Last pic no.6, I will give a 'bump shape' for the figurine to make it easier or stabilize when in sitting position.
We are done with the body part. Next we will dress up the body.
2. Dressing Up

Next dressing up the figurine.
Direction according to pictures :
1. Prepared a small ball of fondant tinted with your fav colour. I choose purple for mine. Roll the fondant using a smaller pin.
2. Next to make the skirt. Take a fondant cutter with any shape you want. You can also use knife to cut the shape you want.
3. I choose this pattern. I cut the access on top, so it's looks like a skirt and easier for me to wrap my figurine.
4. To make the skirt more beautiful.. I am shaping every petals of the skirt using the fondant tools
(Big ball tool, as in photo). Put a side.
5. Creating the top for the dress. use the same fondant. Roll and cut into rectangle. The length just nice to wrap the figurine body. Take the fondant and try to wrap the body to measure. If it is not long enough. Roll it until you have the length desire.
6. Now trim the fondant into this shape.. Something like a 'house roof'.. ^_^. The smaller part will be on the neck line of our figurine.
7. Take the figurine body. brush water or Tylo glue
around the top body of the figurine (I am using Tylo glue. Refer my tutorial on how to make this).
8. Wrap the top dress around the body. Stick it together at the back using water or Tylo glue. Using Tylo glue is more effective than water. Remember.. the smaller angle will be on top, on the neck line.. use your finger to open the neck area, so we can slot the head later.
9. Take the skirt. Brush glue on the waist part only.. and wrap around the figurine waist. I need to pair of the skirt, for front and back.

This is how it will look like. You can roll fondant to create a tiny string to cover the cutting area on the dress or may be create some tiny flower to decorate.. be creative.. ^_^
As for the feet.. using your finger.. shape it into pointy shape as on photo.
We are done with the dressing up.
3. Put on shoes
1. As for the shoes.. I make a very simple one. prepare 2 tiny ball of fondant, which I toook from the access from making the dress. ^_^
2. By using the pointy part of my painting brush
(Make sure the painting brush is just for your sugar craft only ^_^).. make a hole, just nice to insert on the figurine feet.
3. Brush Tylo glue inside the hole and insert the shoes to the feet.
4. I wanted my figurine to cross her legs.. Use the Tylo glue to stick the legs together.
Note: You can always make a stripes to create a Ballerina sandals.. or may be put a tiny flowers on the shoes.. be creative..
4. The hands
1. Always spare a ball of fondant for the figurine hands. Shape into a cylinder shape like this, just long enough for your fairy hands. Cut into 2.
2. Shape the hands almost like the leg.. on elbow area, make it a little slimmer. and on the palm area, just make it round and press flat. Take your knife, cut 4 lines to have the five fingers.. refer my photo no.2.
(You can use your finger to rounded all the fingers.. to make it more tidy)
3. Turn to the back of the figurine hand, lightly cut on the middle.. to make it easier for us to bend it.
4. Next.. using Tylo glue, stick the hands on the body.. I wanted to have my figurine hands to be together. Use glue to stick it.
We are done with all the body part. set a side and leave it for over night to have a better shape. Advisable to leave over night before attaching the head, otherwise the shape of the figurine will be out
(example will go backward or front when placing the head).
Next lets make the head..
Note :I will continue the next part soon..
